Welcome To Lost Prairie Ranch
Lost Prairie Ranch is a productive native hay meadow that gets cut annualy once a year around June for optimal yield and nutrient content. We also use the fields as premiere NSTRA (National Shoot To Retrieve Association) field trial facility that has two 40 acre fields that are primarily composed of Native Grasses that have been here for the last 100 years. The predominant grasses on LPR are Little Blue Stem, Big Blue Stem, Indiangrass, and Longspike Tridens. They make great forage for livestock and ideal cover for field trials as well as some of the best training grounds there are around. We have three ponds on the property that are stocked with bass and blue gill. My vision for Lost Prairie Ranch is to not only have NSTRA Field Trials here but to also have people utilize it for training purposes. Professional Bird Dog Trainer Rob Martin of TGR Gundog Kennels uses the grounds as his primary training facility. There are also several local trialers and hunt test people that utilize this place for training.
Here at Lost Prairie Ranch we also have a competitive string of German Shorthair Pointers. The success I have had has lead me to start producing my own puppies to sell to others that compete in NSTRA.
